Primary 6, Room 11 have been working hard to improve their recount writing this term and have enjoyed developing their knowledge of the ‘5 W’s’

Throughout the year, our class have eagerly anticipated the moment they got to “meet their buddies”. Primary 6 were enthusiastic when meeting the new Primary 1 children and are currently developing great friendships.

Our social studies topic this term is, ‘Democracy.’ In terms of IDL within the topic, Primary 6 have created excellent pieces of work with their Suffragette letters as well as banners to reflect the banners/posters at the time of the Suffragette movement
Primary 6 have engaged very well with more active approaches to Numeracy activities throughout the year. They are currently undertaking a “mini project” called ‘Theme Park Maths’ which gives the children an opportunity to showcase the problem solving skills they’ve developed throughout the year.

P6 were given an excellent opportunity to prepare and presented a show called, ‘Resurrection Rock!’ to tell the Easter story. This gave the children a chance to demonstrate their abilities in the areas of Music and Drama.

As part of our transition with Turnbull High School, P6 had the opportunity to visit their Science department. The class thoroughly enjoyed taking part in various exciting science experiments.

With the Social Studies topic in mind, John Swinney was invited into the class to help the children develop their debating skills. This was a real privilege for the children and something that they thoroughly enjoyed.

As well as preparing for the various events that the children will be faced with at Sports Day, Primary 6 are currently participating in the Daily Mile.
